BR-DE-2: Your contact details are missing entirely. How to fix it

The invoice is missing the whole block with your contact details (BG-6): no contact person, no telephone number, no email address.

Error: the invoice is refusedFrom the German additional rules (XRechnung)

The rule, in its own words

Die Gruppe "SELLER CONTACT" (BG-6) muss übermittelt werden.

Fields involved: BG-6

What the rule checks

The rule only checks that the block "SELLER CONTACT" (BG-6) is in the invoice at all. What it contains is checked by three rules of its own: BR-DE-5 the contact person, BR-DE-6 the telephone number and BR-DE-7 the email address. The European norm EN 16931 leaves the block optional; XRechnung makes it mandatory.

Why files fail it

  • Your own master data holds only your company name and address, with no contact details. Many programs then simply leave the block out.
  • Your program lets you post the invoice even though the contact details are missing, and the fault only shows up at validation. Forum threads describe exactly this for Microsoft Business Central, for example.
  • Telephone number and email address appear only in the letterhead or the footer of the PDF, not in the structured data. Only the data counts for the check.
  • The invoice was produced to the European norm rather than to XRechnung. There the block is optional, and the software left it out.

How to fix it

  1. Add a contact person, a telephone number and an email address to your own master data, then generate the invoice again.
  2. The block is called "SELLER CONTACT" (BG-6) in the standard. It holds "Seller contact point" (BT-41), "Seller contact telephone number" (BT-42) and "Seller contact email address" (BT-43); in XRechnung all three are mandatory.
  3. When the block is missing entirely, the report names only BR-DE-2. So add it complete: if one of the three is still missing afterwards, BR-DE-5, BR-DE-6 or BR-DE-7 follows.
  4. In our form the three belong to the "Your details" section: "Contact person", "Contact phone" and "Email". The invoice cannot be generated without them, and every invoice we generate contains the block.
